WRECKLESS So if you haven't figured out this interview was done over the internet
one question at a time. So due to my laziness i have actually been interviewing Skot
for 3 or 4 months now. So Skot we are gonna wrap this thing up. before we do give
us all the latest news on The Cruz Missiles. Whats new? What's to come?
SKOT I'm kinda stoked the interview took so long... I think it shows a good
cross-section of all the shit that's going on with The Cruz Missiles. Since I answered
the last question, Jake and Corey have left the band to pursue other projects. Jake's
in a new band called The Wardogs and it's gonna be fucking awesome when they
start playing shows. Personally, I can't wait.
The Cruz Missiles are now a trio: Me and my buddies Kevin, and Darren.
I've written and recorded a bunch of new songs too. My favorite of the new crop is one
called Shrapnel, which is about making a bomb out of human body parts. It's a
keeper for sure. The shows are starting to come in now. I put together a killer CD of
20 self-produced songs which we're only going to sell at shows to raise some
money for a studio recording. The way I've got it set up now, we're only going to make
100, and if you're one of the people to buy the CD, you get a big discount on a special
version of the studio album. We're gonna do different artwork on 100, sign them... you
know, make them all classy and collectible, as our way of giving back to people who
are supportive. The gimmick is, you gotta come to the shows to get in on the action.
WRECKLESS Skot anyother last words before we end this thing?
SKOT As far as last words go... I was thinking about this today, and it's worth sharing.
When I started playing music, I had nothing. Never had money for lessons, didn't
have anybody to play with, nowhere to play. Basically no clue what the fuck I was
doing. But I just kept at it, and look... shit's starting to come together nicely. I never
would have believed some of the stuff I've done because of my music. It's
empowering, and the bad days don't seem as bad. I guess what I'm trying to say, is if
you've got something in you that needs to get out, then let it, and fuck what anybody
says, as long as it really gets you off..
