Wreckless So hows the scene in your area? What are some of your favorite bands in the
Santa Cruz area? anyone we should check out?

SKOT I'm sort of anti-social like the Unabomber... so I haven't been getting out to shows as
much as I used to and probably should. That being said, I can't really comment on the
dynamics of the "scene" in Santa Cruz at all, but I can say that there are some pretty rad
bands coming out of the area. Up until a couple of months ago, I was living downtown on
Pacific Avenue, and within a couple of blocks of my apartment there are a bunch of venues
like: 418, The Catalyst, The Blue Lagoon, and the Vets Hall, so there was always something
going on, somewhere. On occaision I would come out of hiding to watch The Chop Tops, or
The Stellar Corpses, because I like psychobilly, and both of those bands put on a great
show. One of the bands that surprised me was Trigger Renegade. I don't know what I was
expecting to see, but they just blew me away when they started playing. There are just so
many good bands that I would be really hard pressed to pick favorites, so as a general
rule of thumb I'm just going to say this. "If a band from Santa Cruz is playing in your area; go
see them or you'll regret it." Also, give The Lost Boys a listen...
SKOT Hey Eric, I thought that since I moved up to the Bay Area, I should probably mention
some of the bands that I like up here. Also, I mentioned f Labels in a previous response, and
then I mentioned it to Cristin later that week, and she made a point to mention that the
spelling should be f Lables, with a little f and a big L. Go figure... anyway, sorry to hear about
your friend passing, that's never easy.
Since I moved to the Bay Area, it's only right that I mention some of the bands up here that
are worth checking out. You should check out the new record that Nuts and Bolts just put out,
because it's fucking amazing. They're one of the only real Oi bands coming out of Oakland,
and I can't say enough rad things about them. You should also check out Misled Citizen,
which is Jake and Corey's other band. I don't know what's going on with  MC lately, as far as
playing/recording, but those guys are my bros, and that makes them an absolute must
listen. Plus they're from San Diego and they play down there a lot, so you could probably
catch them at a show in the near future. I've sort of got a complicated history with the next two
bands, but I'm just going to be a man and say that you should check out The
Buckshot Boys if you're into rockabilly, and Hail The Tragedy if you're into hardcore. Lastly,
keep your eyes peeled for Something Cool... because they're troopers, they're real good
guys, and they've been around for the last 8 years, believe it or not. I sort of miss the
concentration of shows and bands in Santa Cruz, but there are good things coming out of the
North.

WRECKLESS  hey skot hows it goin? Sorry about the hold up just been busy and shit. We will
have this thing done soon. Heres a couple more questions for now. Skot I've noticed you like
a lot of psychobilly? Who do you listen to lately? Some of my favorites lately are Pitbull Farm,
Klingonz, The Creepshow and the classics The Meteors, Demented Are Go, Long Tall
Texans... etc

SKOT  Well, you can't go wrong with The Meteors, The Quakes, and Demented Are Go. By
the same token, I really like Mad Sin, Nekromantix, and Tiger Army too, and I don't care what
kinda shit people are talking these days. I used to have family who lived in Ukiah, so I've got
a sort of sentimental attachment when I listen to bands like AFI and Tiger Army. I got on this
weird kick, where I was seeking out Japanese psychobilly bands to listen to. I remember
liking The Mad Mongolians for awhile. A band you should definetly check out is The Tabaltix
from Healdsburg. I haven't really stayed current with what they're doing lately, but I really like
those guys. I used to book bands at this movie theater in St. Helena for awhile, and I have a
really good memory of them coming down to play. The show started after the last movie was
over at like midnight, and nobody showed up because the whole town goes to sleep at 7:30,
but those of us who were there had a really good time. I felt bad because the theater stage
was really small, there were chairs bolted to the dance floor and bands only got twenty
dollars that night. They deserved so much more than that, but we did what we could with
what we had at the time.

WRECKLESS Whats your favorite beer? How often do you drink it?

SKOT Truth be told, I'm not picky. I drank Pabst Blue Ribbon until they raised the price. It
used to be the cheapest. Now it seems like all I see is Natty Light, or whatever's below it on
the food chain. I'm not going to go into detail about the taste, but I will say that from an
economic standpoint, Steel Reserve makes a lot of sense. Sometimes I like to get a little
classy and drink the expensive stuff, sometimes I'll take a six pack of Green Zima to a party
because, let's face it.... that's fucking funny. I have reservations about drinking Pacifico,
because horrible shit always seems to go down. Don't get me wrong, it's a tasty beer, but
Pacifico will fuck your life if you're not careful. As far as my drinking schedule goes, it
depends heavily upon outside stimulus. If life is going good, if you can afford to drink all day,
everyday, and you have nothing that's going to come and shit on your parade, then
congratulations, live it up. With that being said, if you've got a list of responsibilities that
you're letting slip, or children that you're neglecting, or you're leeching off of society using
alcohol as a crutch etc... maybe you should tone it down a bit. (I'm not naming names, but I
know a few of those.) I've found a comfortable balance between being productive and
self-destructive and for ME personally, that's somewhere in the two or three nights a week
range. However, if you find that you're a RAGING ASSHOLE after a few beers... I heard
somewhere that bleach gets you fucked up, but it's your fault if you try it.

Speaking of RAGING ASSHOLES... Somebody just broke into my storage the other day and
stole 3 of my guitars. I hope Karma fucks that guy with a screwdriver twice. First, for stealing
MY guitars, and second for implying that the rest of my shit wasn't worth stealing.

I'm pissed about the stuff being stolen, but I'm sort of pissed I didn't think of it first. Whatever,
it's out of my hands now.
