WRECKLESS Just to let everyone reading this interview know it's been at least a couple
months since the first question in our interview due to technical difficulties. Since it has
been so long are there any new developments with The Cruz Missils? Any new songs
done or in the works? Any shows coming up? Hows it been going these last couple
months?

SKOT Tons of shit has gone down since the beginning of the interview. First, I moved out of
Santa Cruz, and back to the north bay. It's taken some getting used to because now I live on
top of this hill in the middle of  nowhere, just totally isolated. It makes it hard to do the
things that are really important in life, like go buy beer and cigarettes, but I've got  a
lot of time alone to sit around and go nuts, so I manage to make it  work. I moved up here to
be closer to the rest of the band for rehearsals, so we're doing that on a regular basis,
despite a few setbacks like half the band living in a van somewhere in Oakland, or shit like
not having a practice space, transportation, money or a job. It's not fun stuff to deal with, but
it makes for good songs. I wrote Rise Again, in response to all the shit I've been catching
lately. It's about hitting hard times, but not accepting the hand you get dealt. Sometimes
you get handed a steaming pile of shit in life, and you can either smoke yourself and be
done with it, or just say "fuck it" and keep moving forward however you can. I like to listen to
that song a lot. It helps me get through it. I've got another song in the works right now, but it
doesn't have a title I've got another song in the works right now, but it doesn't have a title
yet. It's along the same lines as Rise Again. The song is done being written, but I don't
have any way to record it right now, so it will probably be awhile before anyone gets to hear
it, but it's worth sticking around to hear it.
That's pretty much, all I've got to say right now...

WRECKLESS I hadn't heard rise again yet, so i just went to your myspace page to check it
out. You're right that song fuckin rocks. I just downloaded it to play on the next radio show.
You are definitely one of the most talented song writers i've come across in some time. I
must say a talented musician as well. You said you moved to be closer to the band for
practice. Are you guys playing any shows in the near future?

SKOT Thanks bro, I'm glad you like Rise Again. As far as booking some shows, that's
definetly in the works right now, and you should all be on the lookout for one in your area.
We're putting the finishing touches on a killer set at the moment, and it's got a lot of
high-energy songs in there to get the floor moving. I just want to take a second and say that
I'm so excited to be working with a real live drummer. I have some real limitations when it
comes to programming a drum machine; but I do what I can...  Kevin, on the other hand, is
a fuckin' awesome drummer, and he takes the songs to a whole new level. Once we get all
the little bugs out at rehearsals,  we're going to hit the road hard, and if our last practice is
any indication, the shows are going to be loud, fast, and unstoppable.

WRECKLESS I see you have your songs for sale on the myspace page and you can
download artwork from the blog. Is that the only way to get it or do you sell any cds or
anything? Have you considered working with any labels? Have any showed an interest in
you guys?

SKOT Right now, if you want to get your hands on some Cruz Missiles songs, you're gonna
have to bite the bullet and download it from our Myspace page, or maybe shoot me an
email and bug me until I send you a CD. I was doing a little mail-order business sending
out CDs, but I was being a little too generous with the pricing and I ended up getting killed
in the wallet by the post office. When I moved, all my CD making materials got tossed in a
box and shoved in a storage unit somewhere, so I haven't been very able to
send CDs out into the world. That will change, once I find myself in a  legitimate living
arrangement again. As for working with a label, we're still looking around for the ideal fit.
There was a point in time where I was being very proactive about making contact with
labels and radio stations, but that went out the window with the move. It's only temporary. I
have been working with this rad chick named Cristin who runs F-Labels over in the east
bay. They have been integral in the development of the Cruz Missiles over the
last couple of months, offering feedback on songs, helping me brainstorm a gameplan,
and just being supportive in general. I'm sure F-Labels would be stoked to see us play a
show soon, just to make sure we're not a bunch of  assholes if for no other reason. I know I
sound like a broken record, but Cruz Missiles shows are coming. Just remember, good
things come to those who wait.
